Artist wanted for a summer in the Spectacular Dolomites
Are you an artist who enjoys the great outdoors? Ever thought of spending the summer amidst some of the most spectacular mountains in the world, teaching other people to paint?
Collett's is a small, family run, holiday specialist operating in the Italian Dolomites. Our guests come here to walk at low, medium or high level altitude, or go even higher on the celebrated Via Ferratas (high level scrambling routes on wires, ladders and bridges). Others come to admire the flora or to paint ... or just relax in alpine splendour.
Each year we recruit seasonal staff to join our friendly resort teams, which care for our guests. Most staff members are involved with organising walks and days out for guests in the local area, as well as helping with the day to day domestic duties.
Within this staff group we employ an artist who offers casual watercolour tuition to our guests three days a week. Tuition generally takes place on location, in the meadows, mountains & villages of this spectacular area, and would naturally focus on landscapes. The artist need not be a watercolour specialist nor an experienced tutor as such. We are looking for someone with a good art background able to pass on their knowledge as an artist and muck-in with all other aspects of the job.
The majority of guests will be walkers interested in a day's painting, but there are some who come out with the specific intention of painting as often as possible. These people vary in experience and ability, but it is fair to say that the majority of guests require help with basic painting/drawing skills.
On the other days of the week, as with all of the staff team, additional duties would involve helping with the domestic chores around the chalets morning and evening, which leaves the afternoons free to go out and enjoy the outdoor activities available on the doorstep. Hill walking, via ferrata, climbing, mountain biking and road cycling.
With a high rate of returning staff each season there are great opportunities to carry on and work a winter season in the Dolomites with us too.
