Bar Manager and Bar Staff – Hotel Portetta Courchevel 1650

We are now recruiting for a Bar Manager and Bar Staff to lead our kitchen team for the winter season 2018/19 and beyond.

About Us:

Angela Hartnett has taken to the slopes of Courchevel with the Cucina Angelina, our Restaurant within Hotel Portetta. The hotel is part of the award-winning Lime Wood and The Pigs Group.

The Restaurant is a unique offering in Courchevel Moriond.  Cucina Angelina serves Italian influenced mountain food – the best Italian kitchen specialties with a nod to the local Savoyard cuisine. Plenty of locally sourced produce and a terrific range of meats and cuts that will be grilled on an open range within the Restaurant.

The Bar builds on the relaxed, casual style within the hotel Portetta – Our outdoor terrace bar is right at the bottom of the main piste, here we have a wood fired pizza oven, a popular and busy venue throughout the day.

About the role:

We’re looking for a passionate, experienced Bar Manager and experienced Bar Staff who understand the challenges of winter seasonal work.

As Bar Manager, you are there to lead the Bar team overseeing a hotel operation covering breakfast lunch and dinner, working alongside Executive Chef Angela Hartnett. You will be responsible for running the service operation maintaining service standards throughout the season.

You will be in charge of managing and training your team prior to and throughout the season, including maintaining payroll records and compliance with French employment law.  Working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager and Hotel Manager to ensure full customer satisfaction.

As Bar Staff, you must be enthusiastic and keen to learn, as well as having a passion for creating fun yet superior quality experiences for our guests. Therefore experience in a similar role is essential. While product knowledge training will be provided, we require individuals who are familiar with the art of service.

Due to the nature of seasonal work it is essential you are able to promote and maintain a positive work environment, ensuring the Bar department works collaboratively with all other departments.

 

Experience and Knowledge for Bar Manager:

  • Proven experience as Bar or Assistant Bar Manager

  • Exceptional proven ability of Bar management

  • Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress

  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills

  • Up-to-date with current drinks trends and optimized bar processes

  • Credentials in health and safety training

  • Fluent French or a high-level of conversational French is essential.

    Experience and Knowledge for Bar Staff:

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Outstanding Communication skills

  • Organised, flexible and creative by nature.

  • Fluent French or a high-level of conversational French is essential.

  • A basic understanding of beverage products, with a knowledge of the classics is preferable, although full training will be given.
