The Boutique Chalet Company are seeking a Chalet Chef to join our team for the Winter 2017-18 season in France. Our Chalet Chefs works as part of a Chalet Team (Chalet Manager, Assistant Manager and supporting Housekeeping and Driving team) typically catering to 10-16 guests in a Luxury Private Chalet environment.
We’re an established brand within the luxury ski industry and pride ourselves on providing a modern and innovative service to our guests. Our take on the modern luxury ski holiday draws inspiration from hospitality trends around the world. We like to mix things up at times, our guests might enjoy a tasting menu one night and tapas the next.. We try not to waste time on things that don’t matter, but we all have an exceptional eye for detail and strive to do everything to the best of our ability. All of the team have a real passion for hospitality and it shows to our guests in all that we do.
This is a full time role commencing in late November 2017 until late April 2017 based in our properties in Les Gets, Morzine, Chamonix or Meribel. There is also the potential to continue with us into the summer season.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering a personable yet professional dining experience combining their own menus alongside company structured menus, always striving to exceed customers expectations. They will hold prior fine dining experience in a Private Chef environment (Yachts, Private House, Luxury Chalets) or be looking to develop their career into this area.
Preparation of company signature breakfasts on a daily basis.
Preparation of afternoon tea on a daily basis.
Preparation of evening meals on a daily basis. (Please note that some of these will be company signature menus but we will also require the Chef to design menus for their guests on some nights, dependant on guests requirements and preference.
Preparation of children’s dinners when required as per company standardised menu.
Preparation of nutritional staff meals as per company standardised menu.
Maintenance of high levels of food hygiene during all preparation and service tasks, compliant with Food Hygiene Training and HACCP principles.
Maintenance of their workstation (often an open plan kitchen) to the highest level and working in conjunction with the service team to maintain a professional environment at all times.
Weekly shopping for the pre planned menu within the allocated budget.
Open communication with clients and discussion surrounding dietary requirements.
Skills & Experience
Professional chef experience either in private dining or a restaurant with a strong understanding of fine dining.
Competent in the delivery of food in all aspects of the role (e.g. baking).
Flexibility – able to deliver a combination of company structured menus and own menu plans on a weekly basis with consideration to dietary requirements .
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills - our company working language is English but proficiency in French would also be an advantage.
Organised and well-presented with an excellent eye for detail.
EU Passport and/or the right to live and work in France.

Competitive financial package with a full time annual equivalent package of between EUR 30,000 - 45,000 EUR
2 meals per day whilst on-duty
