We are recruiting a Villa Chef & Host for a luxury operator with several luxury villas in and around St Tropez. Our client stresses the importance of great service and even greater food! This is a great opportunity to experiment and create your own exciting menus with fantastic Mediterranean produce. This is an exciting new company who treat their staff really well and have chalets in the Alps where you could work in the winter. We are looking for a dynamic duo who ideally have worked together in the past, who are charismatic and love lots of guest interaction.

CHEF ROLE:

For the chef, your responsibilities will include:

  • All of the provisioning for your villa & managing all stock levels
  • Keeping your villa kitchen clean and tidy at all times, and helping out in other areas when needed
  • Maintaining your weekly budgets and making sure all accounts are done properly and handed in on time
  • Pre-arrival checks with guests to find out about any dietary requirements and menu options
  • Strictly maintain all food, health and hygiene kitchen standards on a daily basis
  • Prepare welcome drinks/eats for new arrivals
  • Provide breakfast lunch, canapes and a 3-course dinner
  • Create and plan exciting weekly menus, preferably with the fresh, local produce that will be available to you
  • Complete all paperwork when necessary
  • Together with your villa team, be responsible for reporting overall basic maintenance within the villa and all villa operations

Minimum requirements for the Chef:

  • Ability to plan, cook and produce meals to a high standard
  • Problem-solving and adapting within the kitchen & exceptional personal presentation
  • Recognised catering qualification such as NVQ or City & Guild Chef Qualification, Cooking School Certificate or extensive experience in a professional kitchen
  • Minimum of 1-year working experience with a qualification or 2 years without a qualification
  • Work experience in Michelin starred or Rosette Level establishments, corporate hospitality, yachts, previous ski seasons and luxury travel companies are all desirable

HOST ROLE:

For the host, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering 5* customer service through serving breakfast, lunch, pre-dinner drinks, canapés & dinner
  • Ensure guest queries are answered speedily and any special requests are met at the earliest 
opportunity
  • Arrange any restaurant bookings or transport arrangements as necessary
  • Go above and beyond to ensure guests have an unforgettable holiday by creating a warm atmosphere from the moment they arrive through to their departure
  • Set and clear dining tables and dining room – including table decoration
  • To be always conscious of general hygiene, maintaining high health and safety standards
  • Chalet cleanliness and presentation including inside and areas outside the chalets
  • Daily clean; evening turndown service; weekly clean; deep cleans at the beginning, mid and 
end of the season; daily laundry duties and other necessary cleaning to ensure chalet is 
presented to the highest standards

Requirements for the host:

  • Extensive 5-star hospitality or silver service experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation/time management skills

Abilities and Expectations of both candidates:

  • Excellent guest relations and interpersonal skills
  • Highly professional & takes pride in your work.
  • Good self-motivation, organised, highly flexible and pro-active
  • Team player with great sense of fun
  • A Full UK/EU Driving License is essential 
for at least one of the candidates
  • Available for the whole season (May until end of September – booking dependent)
