Chalet Chef/Host Couple – Montriond, Morzine – Seasonal (possibly beyond)

We are looking for an excellent chalet couple for the upcoming winter season for a lovely 5-bedroom chalet in Montriond, just outside of Morzine, with the possibility to extend beyond the winter. We are looking for a couple who make an excellent team, with real emphasis on great food – our guests will expect truly fabulous food at all meals, served in an informal and friendly environment. 


We are looking for a highly professional couple with a 5-star service mentality who have ideally worked together. The ideal candidates will have a positive and flexible attitude, be proactive, work well under pressure and listen to clients’ requirements. They will be well presented at all times and self-motivated.


Chef Duties include: 

      Provide full breakfast, afternoon tea, canapés and 4 course evening meal 6 days a week all working within Health & Safety Food Standards.

      Menu planning to work with innovative and suitable ideas including working to satisfy guests' special requests.

      Adapt menus to satisfy any dietary requirements such as vegetarians/wheat intolerance etc.

      Prepare children's evening meals (as required

      Shop weekly and to a budget, and keep accurate chalet accounts on a weekly basis, sourcing the best ingredients possible within the budget allowed

      Keep kitchen, to include all mechanical and electrical appliances clean and to a high standard

      Work with the chalet host sharing the cleaning of the sitting and dining areas and to be responsible for your chalet, assist in cleaning whenever needed


Host/manager Duties include and not limited to:

      customer service delivery – incl. service of breakfast, afternoon tea and formal evening meal

      proactive communication with guests to ensure all queries are answered and any special requests are met at the earliest opportunity

      Keep the chalet spotlessly clean at all times

      Daily servicing of bedrooms and bathrooms and sharing the cleaning of the sitting and dining areas with the chef

  • responsible for chalet cleanliness and presentation
  • responsible for all chalet laundry
  • managing of chalet budgets

      Assisting the chef when required with plating up/prep/washing up

      Lay the tables suitably and as trained for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner


Overall duties to include:

      Be responsible for reporting overall maintenance within the chalet and managing the chalet inventory throughout the season, logging all breakages & informing of any discrepancies

      Guests driving around resort, to the slopes and elsewhere when required & to always drive in a safe and respectable manner

      Remove all rubbish and recycling daily

      Ensure the exterior of the chalet is kept clear and tidy & work as a team to ensure all standards of service are maintained

      Be personable and presentable at all times


Skills and Experience required for the chef

This role would suit individuals with the following skill set:

      recognised catering qualification or extensive experience – preferably in fine dining  restaurants

      Chalet or private catering experience is desirable

      good interpersonal skills

      excellent time management and organisational skills

      conversation French is desirable

      full UK clean driving license.

Skills and Experience required for the host/manager

This role would suit individuals with the following skill set:

  • previous 4/5-star hands on hospitality or silver service experience is essential
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • excellent organisation/time management skills
  • previous accounting experience
  • basic computer skills
  • full, clean driving licence in essential
  • conversation French is desired
  • knowledge of ski resorts/season life is essential
