Chalet Chef and Host/ Chalet Couple for Private Family- Courchevel 1850
We are seeking a chalet chef/host duo to create exceptionally comfortable and inviting stays for up to 12 British family members on regular visits to Courchevel 1850 throughout the 2018/9 season.
A Typical Day in the Job
Your day will typically start at 7.00 am to prepare breakfast, clean and tidy up from the evening before if necessary and lay up the table with a continental breakfast and offer a cooked option. After breakfast when the family member(s) head off for the slopes, you will clean and tidy the bedrooms, bathrooms and all communal areas thoroughly. If it is a changeover day between family or guests arriving, then there will be laundry to be done, otherwise after laying up for afternoon tea, shopping for the evening meal, you are free to enjoy the afternoon on the mountain. There will be some flexibility needed about return time to the chalet in the afternoon on some occasions but otherwise at around 5.30 pm you will be cleaning up afternoon tea and preparing dinner which can vary between a 2 or 3 course meal of simple, wholesome English style food, depending upon the family member(s) staying. After dinner, clean up, turn down beds and ensure the guests have all they need.
You will shop for your guests on a weekly basis using cash and an account, accounting for all expenditure.
During the season you may be required to take part in additional tasks to ensure that the chalet is running efficiently at all times. Tasks may include snow clearing, running errands, driving and recommending local restaurants, bars and amenities/activities.
You’ll liaise with the London team regularly to arrange diaries, maintenance requests, airport pickups, petty cash and expense claims.
