Outline of Role
We are looking for one couple or two friends to help run our small range of luxury, self-catered chalets and apartments in Avoriaz 1800 - at the centre of the Portes du Soleil, the world's biggest linked international ski area. The role is from mid-December 2018 to the end of April 2019.
You will be based in resort and part of a small team with responsibility for ensuring that our guests have a trouble-free holiday and that the highest possible standards of cleanliness and maintenance are maintained in all of our properties.
Guests generally book by the week; you assist in meeting them, show them to their properties and introduce them to the facilities. Guests are largely English speaking. During the week you carry out mid-week cleaning in each property, attend to any maintenance tasks that arise and assist the guests with questions. At the end of each stay you thoroughly clean the chalets, change the beds and prepare for the arrival of the new guests.
You will have the maturity to represent our business to our high standards and be able to cover all our duties between you. You will enjoy working with people and be enthusiastic with a flexible attitude. You will appreciate that this not a 9 to 5 role. Experience of maintenance and repair, to at least a good DIY standard, would be an advantage, as would some knowledge of French.
For the right people, we will offer you use of a private apartment in the middle of the resort, a monthly agency payment, use of ski/board equipment and assistance with travel and ski passes. We expect you to prioritise guests but, nevertheless, a hard-working pair could expect to be able to take to the slopes more often than those working in catered establishments - there is no cooking, driving or airport travel involved in this role.
