You are responsible for the day to day management of your chalet in Meribel-Mottaret, ensuring that your guests’ needs are met at all times while maintaining the Company’s standards. You are jointly responsible for providing good quality meals (breakfast, afternoon tea, children’s tea and dinner), all shopping, housekeeping and service. 

Catering

  • Breakfast
  • Lay the table for breakfast
  • Serve breakfast including one hot option plus porridge and boiled eggs on request
  • Clear up after breakfast
  • Afternoon tea
  • Provide a homemade cake or biscuits and leave for the guests to help themselves
  • Evening Meal
  • Prepare and serve the following
  • Canape and Cocktail
  • Starter
  • Main
  • Dessert
  • Wine
  • Clear up after dinner and ensure guests have tea and coffee if required
  • Children’s Tea
  • Prepare and serve a 2 course children’s tea as required
  • On your day off you will leave breakfast and afternoon tea for the guests to help themselves

 

Shopping and Stock

  • Ensure you have enough stock each week to provide for your guests
  • Manage stock levels in a responsible manner
  • Buy fresh bread daily
  • Keep to either the menu plan and/or budget as agreed and discussed during training

 

Cleaning

 

  • Keep the chalet clean and presentable at all times
  • Daily
  • Clean guest rooms and bathrooms
  • Clean and tidy common areas
  • Keep the kitchen to a high standard of cleanliness
  • Weekly
  • Thoroughly clean the chalet between guest changeover
  • Change bedding and towels
  • Prepare chalet for new guest arrivals
  • Start and End of Season
  • Deep clean the chalet as instructed

 

Laundry

  • Inventory linen provided
  • Bag up dirty laundry for collection and fill in sheet
  • Count back in returned clean laundry
  • Report any issues

 

Maintenance

  • Keep the chalet in good working order, for example change light bulbs as soon as possible, make small repairs where possible and keeping management informed of any ongoing issues.
  • Keep steps, paths, entrances and terrace clear of snow
  • Take rubbish and recycling to main bins daily

 

Wood

  • Stack wood provided at the start of and during the season
  • Build a fire each night and light unless requested not to
  • Clean the fireplace weekly
  • Keep the chalet fire-safe at all times

 

Guest Services

  • Contact and liaise in advance to find out all relevant details of future guests -arrival dates and times, dietary needs etc.
  • Create a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all guests - including all children
  • Help ensure that all guests are provided with welcome literature as appropriate
  • Welcome guests and help with luggage on changeover day
  • Be available to answer any questions, or resolve any problems that the guests may have, always aiming to do whatever you reasonably can to ensure that guests have the best possible skiing holiday, whether on or off the slopes.
  • Refer any complaints to Ski Vive
  • Help guests arrange servicing and/or hire of ski equipment
  • Help guests to use the personal laundry facilities as required
  • On the first day take guests to the slopes and ski school if necessary
