We are looking for a talented individual to fill the role of chalet host/chef for one of our small premium service chalets. No previous experience in the ski industry is necessary – as we train you for all you need to know to do the job - you just need to have a great personality, plenty to talk about and a commitment to deliver fantastic customer service to our guests - and, of course, know your way around a kitchen.
Ski Amis is a long-established, family run business and has 19 catered chalets in the top resorts of the Three Valleys and Paradiski in France. We have a 50 strong team in resort and we take pride in our staff and the high quality service they provide – we expect you to work hard and be committed to delivering these levels of quality and in return we provide you with all the tools and support you need to make this task as easy as possible, with plenty of piste time guaranteed and a flexible remuneration package so you can make the most of your season.
The job will involve preparing and serving meals to the guests - essentially hosting a dinner party every night with a four course meal including wine. You will also be responsible for daily cleaning of the chalet - making beds, cleaning rooms and the general living areas, and the weekly turnaround of the chalet in between guests. There will also be basic chalet administration tasks which include a weekly stock take and managing the mini bar, as well as maintaining the hot tubs and saunas (where appropriate) and general basic household maintenance tasks - although being on your own in the chalet, you will have help with these things.
We operate with a fixed menu so you do not have to worry about budgets or planning - we make your life as easy as possible by doing all this for you in advance. You just have to follow the recipe book and kitchen plan provided - for which you will be fully trained - and the results will come automatically. For this reason, we do not require people with experience in this type of role - or who have completed cookery courses or professional training of any sort - of course you must know your way around a kitchen and enjoy cooking but the most important thing is that you have a great personality and the commitment and social skills to be a wonderful host.
