Chalet Management Couple – La Plagne 1800

 

Snowchateaux are looking for an established, independent couple to run a satellite chalet in La Plagne 1800.  As a couple, you need to be able to work independently and confidently within your resort, managing your chalet as a team of two with support from your operations and maintenance teams when necessary.

This role would ideally suit a couple or individuals within the partnership who are familiar with La Plagne 1800 or the Paridiski area.

As Chalet Chef your responsibilities will include providing breakfast, afternoon tea, canapes and a 4 course evening meal, 6 days a week.

You will need to be an experienced chef who is passionate about food and have the ability to be creative whilst working to a budget and catering for all ages and dietary needs.

 

As Chalet Host your responsibilities will include; cleaning of the chalet daily, assisting the chalet chef in the kitchen, serving breakfast and dinner 6 days a week and being front of house for our guests.

You will need to be knowledgeable about the food and wine that you offer, and the resort you are working in.

 

A passion for delivering excellent customer service, great food and skiing or snowboarding

is essential for both positions.

Please note that all applicants must be resident in the UK; over 23 years of age (for insurance purposes); have a full, clean driving license; have a permanent National Insurance number; a UK contact address; UK bank account and valid EHIC card.

Skills and experience required for the Chalet Chef

 

· Recognised catering qualification such as NVQ or City & Guilds Chef Qualification or extensive experience within a professional kitchen

·  Excellent interpersonal skills

·  Excellent time management and organisational skills

  

Chalet Chef responsibilities

 

·  Consistent delivery of the SnowChateaux experience to all our guests working 6 days per week with 1 full day off

·  Provide full breakfast, afternoon tea, canapes and 4 course evening meal 6 days a week working to SnowChateaux standards

·  Prepare Children’s evening meals (two courses) as and when required

·  Menu design to include planning and costing with attention to budgets

·  Adapt menus to SnowChateaux’s guest requirements including working to any dietary requirements such as vegetarian, gluten free etc

·  Shop to a budget, ensuring that accurate chalet accounts are kept on a weekly basis, sourcing the best ingredients possible with the allocated budget

·  Stock control and management in your kitchen

·  Be flexible for last minute changes to changes and menus as per guest’s requirements

·  Responsible for food hygiene and general health and safety in the kitchen and dining areas

·  Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and presentable and in line with regulated food hygiene and company standards

·  Work with the chalet host sharing the cleaning of the communal areas

·  Conduct a full deep clean on transfer day and throughout the season in line with

SnowChateaux standards as set out in training and the chalet handbook

·  Ensure that rubbish and recycling is removed from the chalet daily

·  Ensure that all storage areas are kept clean and tidy

·  Ensuring that any maintenance / breakages are recorded and reported in the correct manner

·  Be presentable and personable at all times

·  Exceed guest’s expectations on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries,

Christmas, New Year etc

·  Ensure that any guest queries are dealt with and passed onto the Resort or Operations managers

·  Be prepared to help out in other chalets and resorts when needed

· Work closely with the chalet hosts and resort managers and be a proactive member of the SnowChateaux team.  

 

Skills and experience required for Chalet Host

 

·  Background of at least 2 years within a hospitality role, silver service is desirable

·  Excellent interpersonal skills

·  Professional and flexible attitude

·  Completion of a cookery course would be desirable

Chalet Host responsibilities

·  Looking after the day to day running of the chalet and SnowChateaux guests

·  Help to prepare breakfast, afternoon tea, canapes and a 4-course evening dinner if required

·  Lay the table as trained for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner

·  Prepare drinks for guests in the morning and evening

·  Serve and clear breakfast and dinner

·  Ensure the chalet and communal areas are always clean and tidy

·  Daily cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms in line with SnowChateaux guidelines

·  Conduct a full deep clean on transfer day and throughout the season in line with SnowChateaux standards as set out in training

·  Share the cleaning of the communal areas with the chalet chef/cook

·  Ensure the chalet is well stocked with food, wine, wood and cleaning supplies and that your chalet remains within budget

·  Ensure that all snow is cleared from paths, balconies and ensuring that pathways are safe at all times and the exterior of the chalet is kept tidy and clear of rubbish and cigarette ends.

·  Ensure that rubbish and recycling is removed from the chalet daily

·  Ensure that all storage areas are kept clean and tidy

·  Ensuring that any maintenance / breakages are recorded and reported in the correct manner
·  Complete any chalet paperwork required
·  Be presentable and personable at all times
·  Exceed guest’s expectations on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, New Year etc
·  Ensure that any guest queries are dealt with and passed onto the resort managers
·  Be prepared to help out in other chalets and resorts when needed
· Work closely with the chalet chef/cook and resort managers and be a proactive member of the SnowChateaux team.
