33,000 to 38,000 EUR Per Annum

This is a seasonal opportunity based in France.

The Boutique Chalet Company are looking to recruit a Chalet Manager to join our team for the upcoming winter season. We’re an established brand within the luxury ski industry and pride ourselves on providing a modern and innovative service to our guests. Our take on the modern luxury ski holiday draws inspiration from hospitality trends around the world. We like to mix things up at times, our guests might enjoy a tasting menu one night and tapas the next; and alongside fine wines, we also serve them craft beers, artisan gins and great cocktails. We try not to waste time on things that don’t matter, but we all have an exceptional eye for detail and strive to do everything to the best of our ability. All of the team have a real passion for hospitality and it shows to our guests in all that we do.

The Role
The Chalet Manager role will include the following responsibilities:

This is a full-time role commencing in late November 2017 until late April 2017 based in our properties in Les Gets, Morzine, Chamonix or Meribel. There is also the potential to continue with us into the summer season. Working alongside a Chef, Assistant Manager and a supporting Housekeeping and Driving team, the Chalet Manager takes a leading role in the delivery of service to our clients.

  • Act as the primary front of house manager – sets the standard for and leads the team in the service of breakfast, afternoon tea and a formal evening meal taking the time to understand the company's food and beverage menus.
  • Ensure a high level of food hygiene during all preparation/service tasks adhered to by the whole chalet team.
  • Support the Chalet Chef with kitchen management.
  • Assist guest to manage bookings organised pre-arrival by the concierge team and take responsibility for further concierge matters (such as restaurant bookings) once guests have arrived in resort.
  • Support the Driving team at peak times by driving guests to the slopes.
  • Continuously champion working with care and attention in high-value properties and with regards to their facilities (such as swimming pools) taking a leading role in ensuring their overall upkeep and presentation.
  • Management of weekly stocks and budgets in addition to customer invoicing.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have prior relevant management and seasonal experience. They will have strong table service and drinks service skills, as well as a knowledge of wines and fine dining. They will be responsible for the property and team that they manage, able to work to budgets and ensure that company standard processes are executed correctly.

  • At least one previous ski season in the managerial role.
  • Previous employment/extensive relevant experience in a comparable hospitality environment, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
  • Confident and able to work with autonomy and lead a small junior team.
  • IT literate - able to manage rotas, inventory and stock movement records (with some support from our office team).
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills - our company working language is English but proficiency is French would also be an advantage.
  • Exceptional eye for detail and an understanding of the standards required in a high-end property.
  • Full, clean, driving license valid within the EU and held for at least 2 years with regular driving experience and confidence driving large vehicles such as a minibus
  • EU Passport and/or the right to live and work in France
