Background:

Established in 1903 The Ski Club of Great Britain is the largest and oldest snowsports membership in the UK, with over 26,000 members.  The purpose is to promote and protect enjoyable and inspiring snowsports experiences for everyone who loves snowsports.

Purpose:

·         Support the Marketing and Digital Team in producing content that is aligned with their short-term and long-term objectives on membership growth, membership engagement, revenue growth.  Increasing brand awareness across the full SCGB portfolio including main brand, sub-brands, products and services to members, non-members, Leaders, council and staff

·         Produce content to be delivered to a range of audiences including Ski Club members and customers, non-members, Ski Club Leaders, Council and Staff

·         Constructing promotional text and content for banners, brochures, magazines, online ads, engaging email campaigns and social media networks

Stay up-to-date on the latest ski and snowboard industry news, events and activities together with content marketing trends and applying these learnings

Principal Responsibilities:

 

·        Create and publish original and engaging content for online channels including website landing pages, resort pages, holiday product pages, news, informational articles, web banners, email marketing and more, liaising with the Content Team and Digital Team

·        Create content for offline channels including Ski+board magazine, external publications, product brochures, and more, liaising with the Marketing Team

·        Optimise content for online distribution, user experience and to be aligned with SEO objectives, liaising with the Digital Team and Digital Marketing Agency

·        Work with other departments to develop content timelines to fully support product launches, events, ad campaigns and other brand messages

·         Maintain in-house style, tone of voice and act as brand guardian for online content

·         Plan, produce and edit original and topical news content and use content management systems to publish content

·        Liaise with Social Media Executive to ensure content is well optimised for distributing through all social channels

·        Provide support for Social Media and wider Communications team during events, absence or peak periods

·        Support Ski Club TV (Ski Club of Great Britain’s YouTube channel) and ensure all video content is accompanied by written online features

·        Proofread and edit content produced by other team members

·        Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection)

·        Stay up-to-date with industry developments and generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention

 

Please note this list is not exhaustive and only gives an indication of the tasks the role is responsible for. From time to time, it may be necessary to fulfil other tasks as required.

Requirements (essential)

·        Must have at least 1 years’ experience working as a professional content and copywriter

·        Strong communications skills – written and verbal

·        Excellent writing and editing skills in English

·        Enthusiasm and passionate about developing a career in content marketing

·        Ability to maintain and develop strong business relationships with key external and internal contributors including colleagues from other departments, external agencies and 3rd parties

·         Hands-on experience with CMS systems e.g. Sitecore, Joomla, Drupal, Umbraco etc.

 

·        Creative and editorial skills, with a proven ability to create and/or adapt content and copy to fit a target audience

·        Well organised, self-motivated with immaculate attention to detail

·        Strong team player

·        Familiarity with social media trends

·        Strong understanding of snow sports industry and audiences

 

Requirements (desirable)

·        University graduate ideally with a degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing or relevant field

·        Experience in SEO and Keyword Research

·        Experience using Google Analytics

·        Previous experience skiing or snowboarding
