Responsible for all guest catering: breakfast, afternoon tea, children’s supper (2 courses) and adult evening meal (5 courses: canapes (x2), entrée, main course, dessert and cheese)
You will be required to cook and serve breakfast 4 mornings a week, plan and prepare afternoon tea 6 days a week and prepare, cook and present a four course evening meal with canapés 6 evenings a week. Food ordering, budgeting, shopping and stock control will also be your responsibility as well as cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and stock room. As part of the chalet team you will need to be a good team player and able to delegate tasks to the chalet assistants in a pleasant manner.
Age: Ideally 20-28
Qualifications: Minimum one month recognised cookery course or two week course with extensive kitchen experience.
Experience: You need to be a dedicated chef who genuinely enjoys creating exciting dishes. Generally this is not a job for a gap year student, although will consider gap year applicants. You will need to have energy and enthusiasm, be creative, a good team player, cheery and sociable and able to mix and communicate with people of varying ages and walks of life. You do not need to be able to ski but a desire to learn is preferable (we love introducing non-skiers to the joys of skiing). You must be the holder of a British or EU community passport.
Remuneration: £700 to £900 per calendar month. Own room in shared accommodation. Return transport between London and Chatel. 1 full day off per week and 2 half days. Full Portes du Soleil lift pass and medical insurance. Ski and boot hire.
