We are recruiting for a host/chauffeur couple to work in a private chalet in Meribel for the winter season. The chalet is predominantly used by the owners who are a very nice family. They are easy to look after, quite self-sufficient and know the chalet and the resort very well. The chalet is also rented out to a luxury operator who brings a full team to service the week they come, so in these weeks you will work in defined roles within the team under their direction. They deal with all the pre-holiday guest liaison and host the guests.

We’re looking for good communicators with a ‘can do’ attitude so a flexibility, professionalism and a team working approach are key to the roles, the scope of the work will vary week by week.

Responsibilities:

In the context of a rented week the staff’s main responsibilities will be:

  • To prepare the chalet for the start of the rental, to have everything clean, well ordered and prepped ready for the operator to move in and set up for their guests.
  • To attend a briefing meeting just prior to each rental and to build and maintain a constructive working relationship with the operator’s staff in the resort
  • To carry out their roles during the week as required by the operator on a pre-set rota (which will be a 48-hour week, overtime is paid)
  • To manage stocks of logs, cleaning materials, table linens, house wines, and soft drinks stocks & some dry stores. (the operator brings their chefs, do all the food shopping, bring in their own bed linen, towels, robes and toiletries. Table linen, cleaning clothes uniforms & guest personal laundry is done in-house. All other laundry is sent out)
  • To be our eyes and ears to make sure that the chalet is looked after to our standards during a rental.
  • The family uses the chalet for 6-8 weeks per season. Not all weeks will be ‘full service”. It can vary from just 2 guests to a full house of 14. There is an established roster of subcontractors to flex staffing levels according to requirements. The chalet is large, new and technically complex but we a full complement of external contractors to help keep the building running and a maintenance contract with the architect who built the chalet who can liaise with the contractors on our behalf.
