Job Purpose

Fantastic Summer Job Opportunity! Join JCA this summer as an Activity Instructor based at one of our UK centres, positions start late April until either the end of June or mid-July with the opportunity to return in September to support the autumn operation. We are offering a competitive salary for this unique opportunity (as this is not an apprenticeship) whilst also gaining the opportunity to gain additional NGB qualifications in fencing and first aid. You will also be externally assessed on our climbing and abseiling.

Reporting to the Centre Senior Management Team, an Activity Instructor will lead and deliver a variety of over 40 land based activities ranging from Archery to climbing and abseiling. When fully trained the multi-skilled activity instructor will be able to understand the strengths, limitations & personalities of each participant, which in turn will help them to build trust & rapport during the groups stay. They will ensure the safety, welfare of our customers and the efficient delivery of the Travel Class product to all customers. Using high levels of enthusiasm & skills learnt on the comprehensive training course, our instructors will provide groups with an unforgettable stay that exceeds their expectations.     

  

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Providing excellent customer service to customers throughout their stay.
  • Actively approaching & communicating with all customers, assisting with questions & queries at all times.
  • Developing & maintaining excellent working relationships with all Travel Class & Centre team members.
  • Performing team & individual duties to include the preparation of all activity areas, maintenance of equipment & meal duties.
  • Working to strict deadlines & time schedules in the completion of all duties & activity sessions.
  • Assisting in arrival & departure of all customers.
  • The ability to deliver any land based activity session, where required, including evening entertainments.
  • Ensuring high equipment standards are maintained throughout the season; faulty equipment is escalated and/or removed from sessions immediately.
  • Deliver any activity session in accordance with the Activity Standards & Procedures Manual (ASAPs), Generic Risk Assessments and Site Risk Assessments.
