Are you looking to spend a winter working in the Alps?  You’ll need some great skills at any sort of technical trade – not necessarily to a professional level, but somebody able to turn their hand to most things.  You’ll also need to have a great personality, have plenty to talk about and a commitment to deliver fantastic customer service to our guests.  Ski Amis is a long-established, family run business and has 20 catered chalets in the top resorts of the Three Valleys and Paradiski in France.  We have a 50 strong team in resort and we take pride in our staff and the high quality service they provide – we expect you to work hard and be committed to delivering these levels of quality and in return we provide you with all the tools and support you need to make this task as easy as possible, with plenty of piste time guaranteed and a flexible remuneration package so you can make the most of your season.

Job Details

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Person must have strong “handyman” skills as he/she will be responsible for day to day general maintenance of the chalets or other equipment in resort.  It is essential to be customer focused and to ensure repairs are carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible to maintain customer satisfaction.  Although no professional qualifications are necessary candidates must be capable of undertaking basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical tasks and all types of “fixit” jobs.  Support for larger tasks will be provided from the central maintenance team.  

On changeover days, the Maintenance Person will be a primary transfer driver as part of the team driving clients to and from our accommodation, airports and railway stations – he/she must therefore be an exceptionally confident driver, happy to be out and about transporting guests all over the Alps!

Skills and Experience Required

  • Good DIY skills – no professional qualifications are necessary but must be able to carry out basic carpentry, “fixit” jobs, plumbing and electrics
  • Must be a confident driver and preferably have either two years’ experience driving in a professional capacity over the last 10 years which can be proven by a letter from a previous employer or hold a driver CPC having driven a truck or coach in a professional capacity or hold a RoSPA Advanced Driving Certificate.  This experience can be trucks, coaches, vans, minibuses or taxis.
  • Some French language skills an advantage although not essential

All applicants MUST be over 21 years of age (for insurance purposes), have held a full EU driving licence for more than two years and be resident and working in the UK with an existing permanent NI number and tax record.  You must be available for a face-to-face interview at our head office in Maidstone, Kent.
