Ski Beat are now searching for Resort Managers to lead their  teams for the 17/18 winter season.

We are looking for experienced Resort Managers/Resort Management Couples but if you feel you may have the correct skill set and attitude to make it as a Resort Manager we would also be interested in hearing from you.

If you have seasonal experience or experience managing young teams, if you have managed, organised or instructed at outdoor activity centres  your experience and skill-sets gained there may well crossover into what is required so please apply using the link provided.

The Resort Manager Role with Ski Beat is a challenging one, You will be leading your team from training until season close down with close support from your Area Manager and the Alpine office team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a company in the Alps that cares not only about its customers but also the staff that work for them.

The work is tough, but great fun and really rewarding professionally and personally! At Ski Beat we treat you as an individual, a person, not just another faceless seasonaire passing through. You will meet all of the senior management team who will help to make your season as enjoyable and as much fun as possible as well as supporting you in your job role.

Accountability:            To: Area Manager        For:  Chalet Hosts, Resort Chalet Hosts, Reps

The main purpose of the job

To manage and be responsible for staff and operations in your resort and to ensure the Ski Beat guidelines are followed.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure all Ski Beat services are provided as described to guests
  • Meet procedures & standards set out in the staff manuals, including Health & Safety and Hygiene standards, in your resort
  • Management, training and motivation of staff
  • Drive team to reach a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Maximise profit in resort and keep expenditure to a minimum
  • Resolve in resort maintenance issues quickly and effectively with support of maintenance man and outside suppliers if necessary
  • Accurate accounting of sales and safe keeping of all monies collected for services provided with timely payments to suppliers and banking of surplus funds
  • Support and liaise regularly with the Overseas Management team

Your duties include

  • Pre-season: train resort team; complete a thorough inventory of all properties and ensure chalets are set up to Ski Beat Standards; check chalet and resort descriptions and report inaccuracies; up-date Information Folders, Ski Pack Sheets and Welcome Packs; prepare Après Ski programme
  • Co-ordinate chalet requirements (e.g. shopping delivery, wine ordering, laundry collection and delivery).  Purchase replacement items for chalets when necessary within set budgets
  • Visit all guests weekly and complete online reporting. In larger resorts co-ordinate visits with Rep to ensure all guests visited
  • Communicate transfer information to chalet hosts and oversee the safe transfer of Ski Beat and Directski.com guests to and from the airport
  • Sales of ski pack (liftpass,skihire &skischool) to Ski Beat and Directski.com guests and efficiently organise lift pass delivery andskischool bookings.  Represent the company at the ski rental shop assisting our guests with ski fit on their arrival
  • Plan, organise and implement a full après ski programme.  In larger resorts support Rep in this
  • Act as a translator and deal with emergencies
  • Complete weekly reconciliation for ski pack sales, weekly accounts for chalets and resort expenditure and return with relevant receipts and vouchers to substantiate and return all weekly reports in a timely manner
  • Liaison with local suppliers and owners. For example chalet owners, supermarket, laundry,skischools, hire shop, and lift operator
  • Train and motivate staff to host and clean to Ski Beat standard. Be prepared to lead by example and step in to work in chalets when necessary
  • Regularly visit chalets to verify standards and complete on line reporting
  • Keep on top of maintenance issues ensuring correct communication of these to Maintenance person in resort and Senior Maintenance Person and regular on line reporting
  • Conduct weekly meetings with chalet staff
  • Deal effectively with any staff or guest grievances and discipline staff using company procedures if necessary
  • Look after injured guests helping them deal with their insurance company and ensuring they have everything they need
  • Ensure resort vehicles are properly maintained and used.
  • Liaise with the Creche Manager
  • Organising resort close down including completing end of season reporting

 You must be over 23 years old (for vehicle insurance purposes)

 You will need to have:

  • An EU passport and a permanent UK National Insurance Number
  • Your own laptop

  • Excellent communicationskills
  • Patience and a sense of humour
  • An ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • The capacity to work well under pressure
  • A neat and well groomed appearance at all times
  • Willingness to put guests' needs first
  • An eye for detail
  • First rate timekeeping
  • A practical and hands-on approach
  • Flexibility

  • IT literate; knowledge of Word and Excel

 Experience

  • Winter seasonal work experience is essential
  • Managing a team
  • Previous and relevant Customer Service experience
  • Working or running a chalet
  • Position of responsibility to have been held for a minimum of 6 months

 Preferable:

  • Drivers licence (essential in some resorts)
  • Good level of spoken French
  • Proven sales experience
