Seasonal Receptionist

Role overview

The Hotel Cristina is seeking an experienced Receptionist to join it's team for the 2017 Summer season. Our season is from Mid May and runs until mid October 2017.

Hotel Overview

The Hotel Cristina prides itself on delivering a personal, professional and quality service standard to our Hotel guests, many of which return year on year. The Hotel is situated on a hillside overlooking St. Aubins Bay with the finest views on the island. Join our team and benefit from the support of an experienced, fun and friendly Management team.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a focus for customer care. Have a good understanding of four Star Hotel reception and have experience in a similar role.

Roles and responsibilities

Reporting to the Deputy and Hotel General Manager, your responsibilities will include some or all of the following:

  1. Quick and efficient service carried out with care and consideration
  2. Welcome guests on arrival and follow correct procedure whilst checking in
  3. Be fully conversant with the computer and daily hotel procedures – extensive training will be given
  4. Be aware of and comply with policies regarding the handling of money, banking and posting procedures
  5. Provide in house lists to departments when required, detailing arrivals, departures, numbers etc
  6. Ensure that when completing a shift that a detailed handover is done correctly
  7. Converse with guests in a polite and efficient manner
  8. Take telephone enquiries and pass reservations through to the Central Reservation Office
  9. Checking guests out of the hotel (via computer) ensuring that incidental folios and all extra charges are up to date and presented prior to departure
  10. Be of assistance to guests if they require Car Hire and tours as required
  11. Ensure that End of day procedures are in balance and report to management any discrepancies
  12. Be responsible for all reception monies whilst on duty, cashing up at the change over or a shift.  Short falls are the responsibility of the member of staff on duty
  13. Be aware of hotel policy on fire procedures and reception duties in the event of a fire
  14. Inform management of any guest complaints and maintain an up to date record of any complaint
  15. Wear the correct uniform at all times
  16. Compile JerseyTourism information for Head office
  17. Weekly balance of EOD’s for Head office
  18. Ensure group paperwork is prepared and organised well in advance of group arrivals
  19. To ensure adherence to the companies Health and Safety procedures and maintain these throughout the department
