Why choose our course?
We were one of the first few chalet specific cookery courses to run in the Alps and have been running for 9 years having improved the course year after year to offer you MORE...
No previous experience is necessary, we teach right from the basics to more complex methods (from how to use a knife safely to making a Bechamel sauce). We take bookings from individuals and couples or if you want to get a few friends together we can take small group also. We take all ages from 16 upwards. An information packed hands-on one week course combining practical skills with fun. We teach you...
Unlike other cookery courses with individual catering school style workstations, every day you prepare and cook breakfast, lunch (kids meals), afternoon tea and a three course evening meal including a vegetarian option in a REAL CHALET KITCHEN and sit down to dine with your guests, just like you will in your chalet. During the day there are theory sessions covering all the important things you need to know. This is truly THE MOST AUTHENTIC CHALET COOKERY COURSE available.
NB: Due to the nature of the course we are unable to take bookings from people with any type of food allergy or intolerance other than vegetarians and any vegetarians must understand they will be expected to cook meat.
What some of our previous students thought of the course...
"Hiya, I did your cookery course 5 or 6 years ago and I just wanted to thankyou as it has inspired me ever since and fueled my love for the mountains and it helped to give me confidence. I did one season straight after the course, then came back and worked in a hotel in England which I also found your course helped. Having missed the mountains too much, we headed back out a couple of seasons ago for a few months and am now heading back to the mountains more perminantly and hoping to live down in Bourg. Any way sorry for the random email but I just wanted to thankyou and let you know how invaluable your course has been to me. Hope all is well and thanks again." Natalia Giltsoff (email received Sept 12).
"Hi Laura, I know it is early days but I just wanted to say thank you for your help so far. I have already had 3 responses and 2 interviews booked in and I am just waiting to hear back from the third with a date for when I return to the UK and I have only sent 10 applications off so far, 5 last week and 5 today. Speak soon and thanks again" Lindsay, Sept 11.
"Hey Elena, Was just emailing to say that I got the job with Mont Blanc Discovery! I´m very pleased and feel a weight has been lifted off my shoulders because as you know i´ve been worrying about getting a job for the season. I also like to say another big thank you for last week, it was an amazing experience and I felt I learnt alot. You and Steve have been the best tutors and I do hope to see you guys again sometime. Kind Regards." Caz Hanby, Sept 11
"This course far exceeded my expectations! I was expecting just a chalet cooking course, however you have given me all the information a chalet host needs with regards to their role. I am extremely satisfied with the course and will definitely be recommending you to others. I thought it was absolutely brilliant, all staff were so friendly and welcoming and show clear knowledge, experience and high standards. Top course!" Anonymous, Nov 10
"When I booked this course I only intended taking part to complete my Duke of Edinburgh Award, however now I have completed the course I would definitely consider a ski season in the future. Thank you very much!" Anonymous, Nov 10
I want a job this winter...what date should I book?
You need to start applying for jobs in May/June and tell companies you are booked onto the course. This will give you an advantage over other job applicants who have not booked on a course. It is almost irrelevant which date you book the course, so long as you book it and ensure you tell companies you are applying for jobs.
