Our client is the leading tailor made & luxury holiday specialist. They are currently recruiting for a permanent Travel Consultant for their Villas/Ski division based in Cheltenham. The role of the Consultant is to convert client enquiries into profitable sales and ensure client satisfaction through establishing requirements and consistently meeting or exceeding expectations. Overview of duties: - Study and know well all relevant product on the website and in brochures - Use effective questioning techniques to establish client requirements to ensure that you are able to match their requirements appropriately and profitably - Ensure that quotes and proposals are produced and communicated to client within 24hrs. (if not possible the client is kept up to date as to progress) - Take responsibility for a booking from 'point of sale to point of departure', from initial follow up to enquiry to calling the client on their return from holiday - Maintain regular contact with direct clients and travel agents to keep them informed of progress and status of booking and thus ensure client satisfaction - Resolve client complaints quickly and efficiently - Ensure that client enquiries, booking forms/ emails and telephone message enquiries are replied to quickly - Ensure that services are correctly booked in in-house database/reservations system so that supplier costs are accurately recorded and updated as necessary to minimise invoice errors and accounts queries - Share your own product knowledge through meetings and presentations to ensure that all team members benefit and that clients can be given specialist service - Attend supplier presentations and functions when required to maintain up to date product knowledge. - Identify errors and discrepancies in supplier reconfirmation to ensure that all information sent and/or advised to clients is correct Skills and abilities - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on telephone sales - Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to multi task - Ideally should have excellent knowledge and experience of Europe and skiing - Intermediate computer skills required (Microsoft Office) - Good judgment and problem solving skills - Ability to work in a team environment - Excellent inter-personal skills - Travel industry experience preferred Hours - Monday - Friday - 9am/9.30am - 5.30pm/6pm with one late shift a week 10.30am - 7pm plus Saturdays when required on a rota basis. Salary - 20k + Bonus
