JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMER CAMP COUNSELLOR 2012
LOVELL INTERNATIONAL CAMPS AG, CH-3792 Saanen, Switzerland
PERIOD OF - July 01. to August 26. 2012 (including Orientation)
EMPLOYMENT:
PROGRAM: -There are two 3-week sessions for boys and girls of all nationalities (mostly European). The camp is divided into 2 independent sections: The younger children (ages 6 to 10) will be in Saanen, and the older ones (ages 11 to 14) will be at the Mountain Lodge in Schönried.
- Please refer to the enclosed information. Basically,
the program is designed for children who want to have a holiday experience which includes a variety of sports, activities and excursions and the opportunity learn or practise the English language. English-speaking children have the option of studying French for one hour per day.
NO. OF CHILDREN: - 30 boarders and 15 to 30 day students at each location
NO. OF STAFF: - approximately 35
RESPONSIBLE TO: -the Camp Directors and the senior counsellors.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - to participate fully in all aspects of the program including sharing meal, evening and weekend supervision and camp maintenance duties.
- to prepare lesson plans and to report on camper progress in all activities which you are assigned to teach or supervise
- to counsel campers assigned specifically to your care
- to meet regularly with the senior counsellors and various
program coordinators to plan, prepare and evaluate
QUALIFICATIONS: - minimum age: - 20
- Must hold a European or Swiss Passport
- Must have a European D driving license for buses and drive gear shift
- education: - Most counsellors must be qualified teachers,
university students or some equivalent
- experience: The following would be useful:
- working with children and/or previous camp experience
- English as a Second Language or French teacher
- outdoor or physical education
- swimming instructor or lifeguard, first aid
- hiking, camping, rock-climbing
- tennis, racquet sports, archery, team games etc.
- arts and crafts, pottery, video,
- drama, music, ability to lead sing songs
- rainy day and evening programs
SALARY AND - Salary - dependent on education, experience and years at camp.
BENEFITS: - Full room and board (meals served in the dining room) are provided. Accommodation is either at the Mountain Lodge or in a room or studio in Saanen.

- Free Time: - according to individual timetable
- 1 free day per week
- 1 free weekend per camp session
- 4 full days off between camp sessions
